Joshilyn is the author of seven novels and a novella. Her books have been translated into a dozen languages, won SIBA's novel of the year, received #1 Book Sense Pick three times, won Georgia Author of the Year twice and have been shortlisted for the Townsend Prize three times. She also has a weekly GPB radio show, "Writer to Reader."

The luncheon on June 7 begins at 11:15am with networking, and lunch begins at 11:45am. Cost is $35 for Chamber members and their guests, $50 for General Admission. "Show Me the Clients" Workshop is June 9



On Friday, June 9, Maria C. Hall of Ignite Business Coaching will lead a Show Me the Clients Workshop from 9:30-11am at 15 Perry Street, Newnan's Workspace, located at 15 Perry St. in Newnan.

May 15 is the deadline for Small Business of the Year nominations


Would you like to nominate a business for our Sixth Annual Small Business of the Year Awards? Last year's winners included Overall Winner Dogwood Veterinary Hospital and Laser Center; Entrepreneur Category Winner Crezent #Managed Marketing; Growth Category Winner Penco Restoration; and Employer Category Winner Infiniti of South Atlanta.

Presented by SouthTowne Motors and UBS Financial Services, the Small Business of the Year Awards are a prestigious recognition that pays tribute to the strength of our small businesses. Also, we will recognize one of our community's small businesses as the outstanding "Small Business of The Year" at the awards ceremony luncheon on October 4, 2017.

Please note that past Overall winners are ineligible for nomination for five years, and past category winners are ineligible for nomination for three years from the date of their award.

Congratulations to our Golf Classic winners!

At last week's Golf Classic, everyone was eagerly awaiting the announcement of the winners of the Toyota of Newnan "Walternative" Golf Ball Drop. Jim Thomasson won the Grand Prize of $2,000 cash and two round-trip tickets on Delta. The ten winners of $100 cash were Maggie McSweeney, Dennis McEntire, Lana Mobley, Tommy Godfrey, Stanley Smith, Martin Pleyer, Tony Pope, David Hersey, Ricky Ayers and Matthew Swope.

The First Place team in this year's Golf Classic was from Progressive Heating and Air.

Our Second Place team was from LaGrange Brickhouse.

Our Third Place team was from the Coweta Water and Sewerage Authority.

And our "Most Fun" team was ClubCorp.

Join us for the Leadership Coweta graduation celebration!

You've heard about some of the many accomplishments of this year's wonderful Leadership Coweta class, and on May 18, we'll pay tribute to the 2017 class with a Leadership Coweta Celebration at the Newnan Country Club! 

The event is set for Thursday, May 18, from 11:30am-1pm, and our guest speaker will be Derek Waugh, president and CEO of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. Derek is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Georgia.
