Ribbon Cutting for DFACS Little Free Library is July 14

On Friday, July 14, there will be a Little Free Libraries Ribbon Cutting ceremony at noon at the Department of Family and Children's Services, 533 Hwy. 29 North, Newnan.

The event will take place at the Department of Family and Children's Services offices here in Newnan. Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity will be gifting the Little Free Library to DFACS, and this will be the largest Little Free Library in Coweta County.

Earlier this year, our Leadership Coweta class installed several of these Little Free Libraries throughout the county, and Habitat's executive director, Cristina Bowerman, was a part of that effort. We are delighted to see Habitat adding to the Little Free Library system in Coweta County.

The libraries operate on the honor system—anyone can take a book or leave a book—and all kinds of books are welcome. According to Littlefreelibrary.org, millions of books are exchanged each year through this network of neighborhood book exchanges. The most common form is a small wooden box.
