Celebrate 70 rockin' years of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber

Our Annual Meeting, coming up February 1, 2018 from 6-8pm at The Newnan Centre and sponsored by Georgia Power, is always a fabulous time of celebration and welcoming the new year with Chamber friends old and new. This year's event will feature audience participation, a sing-along, comedy, song requests, light-hearted roasts, comedic skits and bits, knee-slapping banter and the occasional originally crafted parody about audience members, which are all part of the Dueling Pianos International experience.

If you hear pianos and have a sudden urge to join your fellow Chamber members in singing your favorite classic songs, go with it. You are experiencing the electricity of a Dueling Piano experience.

Also at this year's Annual Meeting, we'll salute the achievements of the past year and look ahead to the achievements of the new one, and we'll honor our 2017 Chamber Chairman, John Hall of United Bank, as he passes the gavel to Andy Miller of PrintSource, the 2018 Chamber Chairman.

And did you know that our Chamber will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2018? We'll be kicking off this special anniversary year at this year's Annual Meeting. Tickets are $85 for individual seats and $800 for tables of 10. Sponsorship packages are available as well, and you may contact the Chamber at 770.253.2270 or email info@newnancowetachamber.org for more information.

This is an event you won't want to miss. To RSVP now, click here.

Volunteers needed for Jan. 24, 25 Career Expo

Would you like to help the young people of Coweta County discover the possibilities for their world of work? Then join us for the first annual Coweta Works hands-on career expo, scheduled for January 24-25, 2018 at Central Educational Center! The expo will showcase to eighth graders the many careers available and what they involve through interactive, engaging activities.

The Coweta Works Career Expo is a new project of the Coweta County Development Authority and the Newnan-Coweta Chamber. The decision to target eighth graders as the first step in workforce development is a strategic one. Eighth grade is a critical year for students as they decide on their coursework pathways for high school years and beyond. We will create awareness about these career opportunities while addressing the workforce needs in our community.

Existing employers in Coweta County face unfilled job openings due to a shortage of skilled workers and expect additional shortages over the next few years due to retirements. This is the time to prepare our future workforce, and this expo is an exciting step in that direction. To make this expo successful, we need your help. This event will feature nine "worlds" with different exhibits of industry-related businesses and firms. There are many ways to get involved with this groundbreaking event, and over the course of two days, we will need many hands.

If you can help by volunteering at the event, please contact Cynthia Bennett at cynthia@newnancowetachamber.org.

First 6 Figure Success Club Meetup of 2018 is Friday!

Get the year off to a great start by joining us for the first 6 Figure Success Club - South Atlanta Meetup of 2018! Entrepreneurs wear a lot of hats and juggle a lot of tasks. Maximizing your productivity can be a game changer in staying organized and energized. It is vital for small business owners to be efficient in their daily activities. Come and learn how Chip Lawson has taken his engineering know-how to help him automate and create systems to run his travel business.

Presented in partnership with Ignite Business Coaching, Meetups are designed to showcase, motivate, educate, inspire, and support entrepreneurs in Coweta, Fayette, and Carroll counties and to provide an opportunity for Newnan-Coweta Chamber members to be presenters at the monthly meetings.
