Chamber ups its social media presence with selfie sticks!

So what are these Chamber staff members and volunteers doing? They're learning to use the new selfie sticks the Chamber ordered to help us increase our presence on social media! At the selfie stick brainstorming session last week are, at front, Joel Willis of 92.5 The Bear and, from left, Samantha Brazie of Progressive Heating and Air, Kim Garrison of Dolce Peachtree City, Candace Boothby and Beth Hopkins of the Chamber, Sally Anderson of Key Promotions, Andy Miller of Print Source, Joy Barnes of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and Kim Melhouse-Guerra of Comcast Spotlight.

Here, Samantha, Sally, Beth and Kim have synced their smartphones to the selfie sticks and practice taking photos.
Joy and Andy practice taking their best shots as well. So when you see one of these Chamber folks nearby with a selfie stick, please join them for a photo and help us spread the word about our social media efforts that help everyone keep in touch with the Chamber!

Golf Classic volunteers ready for the big day!

A great team of volunteers has been assembled to work behind the scenes on making our 30th Anniversary Golf Classic on May 6, 2015 the biggest and best event ever! On Monday, the volunteers met at White Oak to get a briefing about plans for this year's event and discuss committee assignments for the day. Dr. Blanche Wallace of DSL Coaching Group, at left, is volunteering at her first Golf Classic this year and spoke with the Chamber's Executive Assistant, Valerie Ward, about what to expect on the big day.

From set-up and signage to food and photography, our volunteers are busy making sure all the pieces are in place for those playing in the golf tournament as well as the many exhibitors and visitors who will be a part of the Golf Classic. Above, Judy Peeler of Paul Peeler Leadership Development gives a report on the great array of food offerings planned for this year's event.

Sally Anderson of Key Promotions is chairing the committee that oversees the set-up of golf carts with player bags. Sally is also busy working on collecting the monthly prizes for our 52 Week Raffle, so if you're interested in one of these sponsorship opportunities for your business, just call the Chamber and we'll put you in touch with Sally!

There's still time to volunteer for the May 6 Golf Classic!

The Golf Classic on May 6, 2015 is one of our most highly anticipated events of the year, and this year's 30th Anniversary Golf Classic is going to be the biggest and best yet! To make sure everything runs smoothly that day, we need lots of volunteers to help with everything from food and parking to prizes, the Expo-on-the-Green, grills and more.

We're still busy scheduling volunteers for time slots the day of the Golf Classic, and a volunteer training session is coming up next week. Volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend training to learn more about their responsibilities and also to sign up for the special T-shirt that volunteers will be wearing the day of the Golf Classic.

If you'd like to help us out by volunteering, please RSVP to Julia at julia@newnancowetachamber.org or call 770-683-0112.

30th Anniversary Golf Classic is just weeks away!

The countdown to our 30th Anniversary Golf Classic at White Oak Golf Course on May 6, 2015 is now just weeks away! In honor of this milestone event, we're going to be "Dancing Down the Decades" at this year's Golf Classic with lots of fun and networking opportunities galore. Behind the scenes, our team of volunteers is hard at work on plans for the Golf Classic. From left are Karen Kurtz of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty, VIP Experience Coordinator; and Tournament Leaders Jenny Rice of Southern Company and Shirley Key of Georgia Power Company.

We're so grateful to our Presenting Sponsors of the Golf Classic, Piedmont Healthcare and ClubCorp, who make sure we all have a great time at this event, which has now become the premier golf event of the year south of Atlanta. Although the team slots have all sold out, we still have sponsorship opportunities available and could use more volunteers as well. 30th Anniversary Golf Classic is just weeks away!

Now that the warmer weather of spring has finally arrived, plans are in full swing for our 30th Anniversary Golf Classic at White Oak Golf Course on May 6, 2015! At a recent planning meeting for the Golf Classic are volunteers Jenny Fritz, Mark Fritz, Phil Aaron and Tammie Tullos. This year's theme is "Dancing Through the Decades," and there will be lots of fun as we celebrate this 30-year Chamber tradition.

Presenting sponsors for the Golf Classic are Piedmont Healthcare and ClubCorp, and this year's event is going to be a special one as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of hosting what has become the premier golf event of the year south of Atlanta. Held annually the first Wednesday in May, the Golf Classic attracts more than 200 players and serves as one of the Chamber's most important non-dues revenue fundraising events.

The Golf Classic also offers Expo-on-the-Greens exhibitor opportunities that allow Chamber members to showcase their products and services to the more than 400 attendees. Prizes will be awarded for players, teams, and exhibitors. For more information on the Golf Classic, e-mail golf@newnancowetachamber.org or call 770-253-2270.
