Georgia's Minority Whip to speak at June 22 Women of Prosperity Luncheon

Carolyn Fleming Hugley, who is the first African American and the first woman to serve as the Minority Whip in the Georgia House of Representatives, will be the guest speaker for our next Women of Prosperity Lunch on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Newnan Country Club.
          
Hugley is currently serving her 11th term of office for House District 136, representing eastern Muscogee County. She has dedicated her time in the legislature to focusing on issues affecting children and has been recognized with numerous awards, including a kiddie park being named in her honor. She serves on the Appropriations, Rules and Insurance Committees. She is a member of the Democratic Caucus, the Women's Legislative Caucus, the Working Families Caucus and the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus.

An insurance agent by profession, Hugley is an independent contractor agent representing State Farm Insurance Company and is in her 26th year of service. She earned a BA degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University. Hugley is married to Columbus City Manager Isaiah Hugley and is mother to three children, Kimberly, Isaiah Jr. and Jaaliyah. The Hugleys have two grandchildren, Kandyce and Adam.

The luncheon, sponsored by LifePlan Financial Advisors, Inc., will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 22 at the Newnan Country Club, 1356 Highway 29 North, Newnan.
