Newnan played role in creation of the 100-year-old Georgia Chamber

At last week's Regional Power Lunch hosted by the Georgia Chamber at The Newnan Centre, Chamber members learned that a well-known Newnan businessman, R. D. Cole of the R. D. Cole Manufacturing Company, was actually on the Georgia Chamber's first Executive Committee. Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber, noted that "the Cole company basically built this community," and during his research on the Georgia Chamber for its 100th anniversary celebration this year, he learned that R. D. Cole was "instrumental" in building the Georgia Chamber.
